Pilot Study: Fields of Klein Increase Cells’ Energy Production

Mitochondria, the “power plants” of our cells, are essential for optimal cell function and for keeping the body healthy. In her pilot study, Prof. Dr. Brigitte König investigated precisely these small cell organelles by asking the question: do Fields of Klein have an influence on cellular energy production, regeneration and oxidative stress resistance of cells?

The in-vivo, ex-vivo and in-vitro pilot study aimed to quantify possible effects of Fields of Klein technology on mitochondrial processes and various clinical markers of peripheral blood leukocytes (PBMC). Five subjects with various pre-existing conditions (including diabetes, hypertension, polyneuropathy, sleep disorders) used a sleeping mat with Fields of Klein technology for a period of three months. During this time, no lifestyle changes were made in order to exclude external influences.

Worth Knowing

To capture the influence of Fields of Klein technology on mitochondrial function, the pilot study examined the following parameters:

  • the ratio of mitochondrial to nuclear DNA (mtDNA/ntDNA),
  • mitochondrial mass,
  • ATP production (energy production),
  • the mutation rate of mitochondrial DNA (ΔmtDNA4977), and
  • PGC-1-alpha expression (new formation).

In addition, the cells’ reaction to oxidative stress was tested using an H₂O₂ test.

The pilot study was carried out using peripheral blood leukocytes (PBMC). Numerous publications have since shown that mitochondrial function and mitochondrial biogenesis of PBMC are altered in various “lifestyle diseases” such as diabetes, metabolic syndrome, neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s), allergies, and also skin conditions such as vitiligo or fibromyalgia – making them a relevant target cell for investigation.

More “cell power plants” detectable

Increase in mitochondrial number

The results show a significant increase in the number of mitochondria in the cells, demonstrated using three different measures. Among them, a significant increase in mitochondrial mass, which rose on average by a factor of 8.

More mitochondria per cell

The ratio of mitochondrial DNA to nuclear DNA rose significantly after 3 months of monotherapy with Fields of Klein – on average by a factor of 9.96 (from 222.03 to 2212.08 copies per nuclear DNA). This means the number of “cell power plants” increased independently of cell division, an important indication of improved mitochondrial regeneration.

Increased new formation

Over the course of using Fields of Klein technology, there was a significant increase in basal PGC-1-alpha expression. This marker is primarily associated with the formation of new mitochondria and points to improved mitochondrial biogenesis.

Research sounds complicated? Here’s what the results mean for everyday life.

Improved regeneration of the “cell power plants”

Reduction in damaged mitochondria

The ΔmtDNA4977 mutation, a marker for damaged mitochondria, was detectable in three of the five subjects. In all three, this mutation decreased significantly. In one subject, the mitochondrial mutation was no longer detectable after 12 weeks. The study shows that with the use of Fields of Klein technology, not only can more mitochondria be formed, but the “cell power plants” can also regenerate and reorganise more effectively.

Case study

40-year-old subject with hardened venous clusters and “heavy” legs

The hardened venous clusters (dark blue) of an overweight subject (BMI: 27) with “heavy” legs and spider veins were documented using before-and-after photography. The documentation of the surface veins after 3 months of exclusive use of the sleeping mat shows:

  • the venous clusters are softer.
  • the subject noticeably feels the sensation of “heavy” legs much less.

ATP generation increases

“Cell power plants” produce more energy

Whether mitochondria are truly efficient only becomes clear in the production of the energy carrier ATP (adenosine triphosphate) – independent of the number of mitochondria. With the use of Fields of Klein technology, ATP production in the mitochondria rose on average from 70.23% to 99.58%. An indication that Fields of Klein can improve energy production in cells.

Increased resistance to stressors

Mitochondria show greater efficiency

Weakened and damaged mitochondria cannot maintain their energy production under “stress.” This makes stress resistance another important factor in assessing the efficiency of the cell power plants. ATP production rose on average by 105.4% following oxidative stress (H₂O₂ stimulation). This points to improved stress resistance and greater efficiency of the mitochondria.

Case study

82-year-old subject with renal artery stenosis

A relevant improvement in classic clinical-chemical parameters was seen in a subject with post-chemo polyneuropathy in the fingers, feet and legs (chemotherapy 5 years prior), a melancholic-depressive disorder, and renal artery stenosis with elevated creatinine. After 3 months of exclusive use of the sleeping mat:

  • creatinine levels improved significantly.

The subject also reported that the symptoms of post-chemo polyneuropathy had disappeared entirely.

Additional individual clinical improvements were documented:

  • One diabetic subject achieved normoglycemia.
  • One subject with high blood pressure was able to lower their readings from 180/120 mmHg to 140/80 mmHg.
  • In a diabetic subject with a wound-healing disorder, the wound closed and pain decreased.
  • Complaints from polyneuropathy decreased noticeably in one subject.
  • Four out of five subjects reported better sleep, less pain, and more stable circulatory function.

“Overall, the results support the conclusion that using Fields of Klein magnetic strips has a positive effect on mitochondrial function and, as a result, positively influences individual health status.”

Results of the pilot study at a glance

The pilot study suggests that Fields of Klein can positively influence mitochondrial function. The increased mitochondrial mass, improved ATP production, and reduced damage to the cell power plants suggest that Fields of Klein could optimise cellular regeneration and energy supply.

What’s particularly notable is that these effects were achieved without any additional medical intervention or lifestyle changes. Further large-scale studies are needed to validate these results.

Does the pilot study matter for everyday life?

Our conclusion on the pilot study

Since mitochondria play a central role in chronic disease, cell ageing and metabolic disorders, the use of Fields of Klein technology could be a promising approach for regeneration, prevention and therapy:

Circulation

The results suggest that Fields of Klein could support the flow rate of blood in the smallest blood vessels – microcirculation. This improves the transport of oxygen and nutrients to the cells, as well as the removal of metabolic waste products.

Regeneration

The pilot study provides initial evidence that Fields of Klein could support the cells’ natural regeneration. This could help improve energy, sleep, and overall well-being.

Prevention

The results suggest that Fields of Klein could have a preventive effect, among other things for type II diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular dysfunction (circulatory disorders), neurodegenerative diseases, as well as sleep disorders and pain sensitivity.
